Bangalore thrashed- Highlities of the first match available
Luck was flowing Kolkata’s way as despite lossing the toss Banglore was on the wrong side of the coin. Thanks to a massive 158 from Brandon McCullum which included 13 hugh sixes Kolkata managed a massive 222/3 in 20 overs. In the post innings interview McCullum said it was the electrifying atmosphere that got him going. Z.Khan, AA Norfke and JH Kallis got a wicket each. Pointing got out for 20, where as Ganguly managed 10 and Hussey got out for 12. Where as Hafeez patnered McCullum with an unbeaten 5. None of the bowlers mad any sort of impression.
Bangalore reply got of too an embarasing start as Dravid was bowled by a full lenght deliver of Ishant Sharam of the first ball of his spell. From there on it was down hill as no one apart from Parveen Kumar managed to enter double figures with 18 he was the second highest run getter after the extras which contributed 19. Ajit Agarkar was the pick of the bowler who finshed with match winning figure of 3/25. Ganguly and Dinda got 2 wickets each and Shukla got the last wicket.
All and all a complete trashing on part of the Knight Riders means that King Khan would sleep peacefully.
