Yahoo to Buy Online Marketers IndexTools
SUNNYVALE, Calif. –
Internet portal Yahoo Inc. said Wednesday it will buy privately held marketing software company IndexTools.
Yahoo (nasdaq: YHOO – news – people ) said 150,000 small to medium businesses that use Yahoo for online marketing will be the first to benefit from the acquisition of IndexTools, otherwise known as Tensa Kft. The companies expect the deal to close in the first half of 2008; they did not disclose the terms.
IndexTools provides analytic software that allows businesses to monitor Web traffic and consumer choices.
On Monday, Yahoo reiterated its refusal to be bought out by Microsoft Corp. (nasdaq: MSFT – news – people ) at the software company’s original offer of $44.6 billion, or $31 per share.
