Beyonce and Jay-Z about to tie the knot
Music superstars Beyonce and Jay-Z have taken out a marriage licence according to reports published today.
The Crazy In Love couple, who have been dating for six years, obtained a marriage licence in Scarsdale, N.Y, on Tuesday, (Wed NZT) People magazine reports.
The document is valid for 60 days, which indicates a wedding is imminent.
A rep for Beyonce gave People a firm “No comment” when contacted. Jay-Z’s spokesperson could not be reached.
Stories of engagement and marriage have surrounded the pair for years but the stars’ reps have previously been quick to deny any specific rumours.
Wedding rumors have popped up in the past. In December of 2006, the couple – who began dating in 2002 – were rumored to be tying the knot in the Caribbean, but that tale was quickly squashed by their reps.
And Beyonce, 26, has frequently brushed off talk of marriage to her 38-year-old beau.
“You can’t rush a man into anything – whether it’s a relationship, marriage or having children,” she told InStyle magazine in 2006.
